Yarraville Reupholstery: Restoring a Beloved Vintage Sofa

This vibrant candy-striped yellow vintage sofa was a truly special project. The client wanted to preserve the original fabric, as it held immense sentimental value and memories within their home. Over the years, the sofa’s springs and webbing had worn down, making it uncomfortable and even unsafe—every sit risked a little tumble through the seat!

We carefully stripped back the old framework, replacing and reinforcing the springs and webbing to restore full support while keeping the sofa’s original charm intact. Maintaining the original fabric was a delicate process; we ensured it was cleaned, repaired where needed, and re-stretched smoothly over the refurbished frame.

The result is a sofa that looks just like it did in its heyday, but now it’s strong, comfortable, and ready for another generation of use. The real joy is seeing it back in the home, where it can continue to be part of everyday life.
